Foundation Camp is about training, and lots of it!
This will be a continuation from camp in April 2019, but don't worry if you missed that one, the only thing which is a continuation is the Large San Sau fighting form, but it does not really matter if you missed the first part we did, as you simply learn the second part of the form at this camp. Or you can get the videos of last camp and learn what we did. The venue is by the sea surrounded by nature, only a few minutes walk down to the most beautiful swimming area (pictures below) We will practice Qigong and Yang Lu-Chan's Taiji form, Push Hands will be covered through-out the camp, as well as other training methods and striking methods for self defence. The main subject this camp will be The Large San Sau Pouchui fighting form! Don't be scared off by this form, it will be taught at a very basic foundation level, then for those who have already been training it, you will be shown more intricate details. Some people say this form should only be learnt once you are at a very advanced stage of practice, this is not my belief, nor was it my fathers. I started learning this form when I was 15 years old after about 1 year of training in the small san sau. Ideally it would be good to have a base in small san sau before learning this form, so if you are new to our system and have not yet done it, then our basic training camp might suit you better, but if the April dates are better for you then you should still be fine learn at this camp, get in touch if you are unsure. What will be taught:
Yang Lu-chan's Taiji Form
We will go through various areas of this form, showing the basic foundation level for any new students, as well as the deeper details for those who have been training a long time already. The focus will be on body mechanics, learning how to move correctly, which muscles to engage to make a movement happen through connection to the centre. Rather than just learning a sequence of postures, we take one move and look at it, this way you learn far more about the form and those who do not know it already will not be lost. Sequence can be learnt from a video, how to move correctly is what you need hands on instruction for.
Large San Sau fighting form, Cannon Fist! This form will be taught in two sessions, one for the solo form and one for the partner form. The form will be taught right from where we got to at the last camp. We will work through the postures slowly with correct structure and movement, teaching you the correct explosive way of striking, how to develop power in the form. Then we will put the two sides together with a partner to create the fighting set, again working through slowly and only putting in speed and power once you can move well, power and speed comes from being correct in your movement, not from trying to be fast and powerful. Bagua Circular Form For those Bagua enthusiasts in the group, Eli will be going over corrections and details just like in the YLC form during the morning sessions.
Qigong and Stretching Will be practiced every morning.
With warm ups to help with Qi flow to better enhance your Qigong practice.
Free training is training any other time of the day when there are no official classes.
Where everyone can simply practice, Eli will be there most of the time giving advice on how to improve, there are also always many other WTBA instructors hanging around. This is where you can either go over what has been taught that day, or you might want to ask some questions about other areas of your training.
Saturday the 18th is arrival day, after 3pm. Training days are 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th. We then pack up and leave on the 25th by 10am. Breakfast Lunch and Dinner are provided on site. We serve a good selection of healthy meals cooked freshly onsite each day. As well as tea and coffee through out the day, and drinking water. Any dietary requirements can be made.
Xrobb L-Ghagin Nature Park And Sustainable Development Centre, Marsaxlokk MXK 4080. Here we have 4 dormitory rooms with 6 or 8 beds in each, nice spacious rooms and comfortable beds so you won't feel crammed up with your roommates. Blankets and pillows are provided along with sheets, a pillow case and a towel. There are 8 toilets and 6 showers to share, all with a high standard of cleanliness. We have a large outdoor training area with sea views, a large indoor hall for training in bad weather, and a dinning room near the kitchen where meals will be served. There is also free WiFi

After lunch it's free training time, do what you want, either do some more training, Eli will be there most of the time to answer your questions. Or you can head down to the sea for a swim or sun bathing.
4pm: Canon Fist (Large San Sau Partner form) 6pm Bagua Circle form
After dinner we usually do Push Hands and any other training people want to look at in an informal manor.

Getting to Camp: Get a flight to Malta International Airport (There's only the one on the island) We will have a pick up service running from the airport to the venue on the 18th, then back to the airport again on the 25th, this is included in the price.
