Erle Montaigue's Next Invitation Only Instructor and Senior Student Class: (roughly every 6 weeks)

It is important for WTBA instructors to at least come to a lesson or 2 every year for corrections and catch up etc. Those who do not come to at least 2 classes per year without a valid reason, will from now onward be struck off the WTBA register. And having no money is no valid excuse as you all know that you are welcome to come even for free if you really cannot afford the small amount that is asked. Of course those instructors in Australia have a valid reason and in the USA as it costs so much to get here. However, those of you who live in the immediate area should attend if you wish to keep teaching under the WTBA banner.

Those valid instructors will receive an invitation from our Secretary, Jerry Shaw by email so please make sure that he has your email address. Those who do not respond after three attempts to contact will no longer be contacted.

DATE:
The weekend of the
July 26th & 27th 2008.

TIMES:
Saturday 12pm until 4 pm to allow people time to get there.

Sunday:  10 am until 2 pm to allow people time to get home etc.

COST:
Same as usual: £60.00 all up. You can come for only one day, however, it is not very good for you as each day builds upon the previous day. One day is £40.00 if you can afford it.

Venue:
Llangadog Community hall. Llangadog SA19 9??

Getting There:

By train: Get to Swansea then you can take a train to Llangadog station, then simply walk into town where you can find a Hotel as there are about 5 Hotels in Llangadog plus a caravan park (for the summer).

By Car:

You come to Llangadog Village by car from the end of the M4 take the Llandeilo Turn off at the big round-about. Into Ammanford you will turn Left at the 2nd set of lights. 5 miles along you will turn to the Right at the round about to Llangadog. Drive into the village with the post Office on your right. DO NOT keep going around to the left, turn right past the post office (straight ahead really) on the A4069. Only about 5 yards past that turn off you will see the Hall on the Right.

The Hall has a kitchen which I have also hired for both days. There is no sleeping at the hall. However, the cheapest would be the Llangadog Caravan Park.

What will be taught in July Class:
Push Hands and more Push Hands!
1/. Bagua Linear - Fa-jing Muscle way (carries on from last time)
2/. Push Hands Applications Plus Push Hands Training.
3/. Small San-Sau Practice.
4/. Self Defence Applications
5/. Tai Chi The Way We Do It
6/. Power Training
7/. Dim-Mak's Most Practical and Deadly Strikes.
Erle will begin teaching Dim-Mak applications only one or two per class. These will only cover the most practical strikes that are able to become instinctive reactions. Each point will be shown with a number of easy and natural techniques for real fighting situations where life is threatened.

NB://
Due to requests, I will be doing Tai Chi Yang Lu-ch'an's form at the most advanced level that beginning students could ever hope to learn. This will be good for cohesion, getting all of our instructors (those who attend of course) all teaching correctly. This is important so that when a student for instance moves to another area or is visiting another area and wishes to train with one of our instructors, so that they can have continuity where each instructor is teaching the same movements. This will take place in the first half of each day of training. The fighting physical side will be in the 2nd half of each day.

We will also be covering the Two Methods of the Advanced Bagua linear Form. See and ARTICLE.

For WTBA Instructors & Senior Students Only! (If you think that you should be invited please let us know)
This is by INVITATION ONLY! Please do not bring anyone with you who hasn't been personally invited to this class!

NB:// There were a few sore muscles and bruises at the first of these classes, so if you aren't prepared for that, then think about not coming! This is real self defence and as such, there is some pain in order to gain.

Erle will be welding the WTBA together in these private, invitation only one off classes. Covering things like The Internal Fighting Methods: Techniques, Non-Techniques, Stick and Knife Fighting, Knife Defence. Push Hands, Self Defence, Hard Slog training etc! Please contact us if you think that you should be included. 12p.m  until 4.00 pm. Saturday. 10 am until 2 pm Sunday.  £60.00. This is an ideal opportunity to learn about the actual physical and mental fighting system of Erle Montaigue. No B.S. No 'Sitting Duck' methods, No Superman methods where you are fooled into believing that you can control someone using your Qi or your mind, no attacks from ten feet away,  just practical and realistic, streetwise, helpful self defence methods.

NB://

Bring with you a pair of arm guards (Shin Pads will do).

From Erle:
These classes are to teach about reflexive self defence. We do not learn about sparring or even fighting, just real self defence from a sub-conscious level. Sparring in fact is the worst thing that one can do if you wish to learn about self defence as it causes you to learn about sparring! And "Sparring" does not happen in the street, nor does tournament "fighting". Sure, if you wish to do a sport then do your tournament sparring but do not expect it to save you in a real fight! In fact, many have discovered that it is almost impossible to learn real self defence methods when they have learned and practiced tournament sparring for many years or even become World Champions etc. First real fight in the street and they go down. This is because they have never worked upon reflexive actions, they have in fact tried to use their kata as self defence! And Kata and Form are NOT for self defence, they were only ever meant to teach us how to move, well "Form" was for that as most karate schools teach that kata is for fighting!
So from now onward, this is where we take what we have already learnt in these classes and put it into the real world. The punching mitts and shields are now replaced by your body! We will be doing what we in the internal call; "attack/defence". This is where one person will gear up in protective stuff and try to knock his partner's head off! And his partner has to react reflexively and register a solid and telling blow onto the attacker's body.
Of course, this will move along very slowly as another damaging area for real self defence is going into it too soon or simply having to fight someone when you aren't ready. So do not worry, we will be taking it very slowly and those who perhaps aren't up to it yet, we will be gentle!
I will also be covering push hands, da-lu and ch'i-na along with stick fighting on a more basic "bang 'em up" level as we have now finished the twelve Wudang stick fighting methods forms.
Our multiple kill and single kill methods have now become a little more sophisticated in that we have other things to do other than just bashing the shyte out of the opponent! We still do that, but also take into account that other things might happen and we have to be aware of these. So these are incorporated into the training.
We will also continue with the developing of the "Fa-Jing Muscle" training in order to train the group of muscles particularly involved in issuing fa-jing or explosive energy.

So come along as these classes are accumulative and on-going so to miss out, is to miss out!
Happy training
Erle
