October 17th - 23rd 2026. Dates to be confirmed.

Eli will be back in Aus for 6 days of training.

The camp will be suitable for all skill levels.

Location:
TBC, but will be somewhere around the Southern Gold Cost QLD, or Tweed Valley NSW.
We will be booking a place for us all to stay for the week.
It's too far away to book this yet, but should be cheaper than any hotels you could get in the area on your own.
This way everyone can hang out during break times and in the evenings.

Please Note, on the last day, we finish at 1pm.

Content of the classes:

Qi Development Tools, and Deadly Katas Qigong Sets
These are two of the most important areas in your internal martial arts and qigong training.

Understanding "Taiji" The supreme opposites.
Without understanding this, your Taijiquan, Baguazhang, Qigong, Meditation, Yoga, or any other internal practice, will only ever be half baked, and we all know what half baked bread is like to eat, or was that just me who didn't read the label?
Anyway, focussing on only one of these energies, will give you very little, or can even make things worse.
This is why the old Taijiquan and Baguazhang forms have a mix of these two energies within them. The idea that Taiji equals soft and calm, is a modern fallacy.

You can learn these things from within your Taiji or Bagua forms, But, where these forms focus on just about everything you need to learn, the Qigong's we're talking about here focus in specifically on understanding supreme opposites.
I (Eli) myself had been practicing Taiji and Bagua forms for many years before I learnt these. And even though I had a very good balance of YinYang in my training so far, these methods opened up a whole new world for me, things started happening that I had never felt before.
Of course all these things then transferred back into my Taiji and Bagua forms, taking all of my training into a new realm.

A simplified version will be given first for beginners, then more details layered in.

Interactive Pad Work
This is where we learn to strike, and miss! Rather than always hitting a static bag, if you really want to learn how to strike, you need to learn how to miss.
Meaning, you learn to not lose your balance when you miss. Which these interactive pad work drills, you will learn all the basic punches, palms and elbows, maybe even a few kicks.

Your partner will hold the pads and learn the drills where they need to move the pads at certain times or change the position, causing you to miss, you then need to hit the new target without falling over.

This is great for those wanting to learn more about power release for Qigong purposes, as well as those wanting to learn how to fight.
This along with the Taiji Boxing Drills will give you a good base to move onto sparring.

Taiji Boxing Partner Work
A set of semi choreographed partner drills, to teach you all the basics of the striking elements in fighting.
You start off with a set drill of three or four attack/defence movement with your partner, then you are given a variation.
You drill it out, for example the first punch is a jab, but then the second punch is either a hook to the head, or the body, you don't know which one, you have to read the punch and react correctly.
This is obviously a great stepping stone into free sparring. However, also very good for those not wanting to learn how to fight, you keep each drill slower and more gentle, still teaching you a great deal about movement and energy.

Push Hands
This is a great training exercise to learn about the principles of grappling. Structure, listening, yielding and absorbing, grounding, and also feeling out your opponents centre.

Taiji Grappling
This is where we take what we learnt from push hands, and apply it into a realistic fighting situation.
First learning some set techniques, then having a play with a partner to see if you can still pull off the technique while under a bit of pressure.
If there is a suitable ground for us to train, we will also look at ground grappling, as this is extremely important to learn in case you do full down.
