Breakdown of the Stages:
Currently our MTG videos do not correlate exactly with the grading syllabus. 
It's all there somewhere, but not layered in the same way as the grades. 
This is because most of the videos are very old. 
With decades of teaching experience we have come up with a best way to learn this system, laying in each step bit by bit. 

The new videos that will link directly with each grade will be published as soon as possible. 
Until then, those of you already training from our current videos, can see the breakdown below. 

Of course those of you who come for training directly with Eli, will be able to learn according to the grades.   


Small San Sau.
Stage 1
The form done at its most basic level. Slow heavy defence, basic striking.
Stage 2
All additional elements added. Faster heavy defence, power and speed in strikes.
Stage 3
Full power defence. Full power strikes.
Stage 4
Explosive Striking.


Single Push Hands.
Stage 1.

Separate techniques. Push the centre. Peng pressure. Divert power to ground and let it go.
Pulled forward. Pushed backwards.
Stage 2.
Basic pushing routine, incorporating everything from stage one.
Plus, push to shoulder up and over. Exploit lack of neutral intent.
Stage 3.
Everything done so far, plus, downward, and upward push. Change Hands**. Pull Hands. Yang Reverse.
Stage 4.
Follow the centre and defend.
Stage 5.
Chest slam and yin defence.
Stage 6.
Move around.
Sharp jerk pull, attack and defence.
Stage 7.
Small frame. Freestyle. C back and compressions. Hinge peng.


Double Push Hands.
Stage 1.
Basic pushing routine. Direction changes. Exploit lack of neutral intent.
Stage 2.
Downward, and upward push. Yin defence against shove. Follow the centre and defend. Apply Lu and defend. Walk through. Peng break. Arm Lock against peng & arn.
Stage 3.
Small frame. Freestyle. C back and compressions.
Stage 4.
Move around. Anything goes.


Hold The Baby.
Stage 1. Empty foot on the ground.
Stage 2. Empty foot off the ground.
Stage 3. Empty foot on the knee.


Dragon Prawn Boxing Mix.
Stage 1. Slow and smooth. 
Stage 2.
Fast, powerful, but still smooth.


Partner Circle Walking.
Stage 1. Slow, inside/outside changes. Upper & lower attack/defence.
Stage 2. Fast, inside/outside changes. Upper & lower attack/defence.
Stage 3. Kicking attack and defence, slowly.
Stage 4.
Kicking attack and defence, fast.
Stage 5. Anything goes.


Che Sau.
Stage 1. Basic flow with attacks and yin defences.
Stage 2. Basic flow with attacks and yang defences.
Stage 3. Split flow with one handed attack/defence
Stage 4. Split flow with opposite hands.
Stage 5. Spiral flow. Slow attacks and grabs.
Stage 6. Fast attacks and grabs, (keeping to Chee Sau)
Stage 7. Anything goes.


Taiji form.
Stage 1
Basic structure and movement with flow and synchronising the breath. Applications.
Stage 2.
Recoil strikes at release points. Striking intent and potential power (twist, wave, weight) with settle back on same direction strikes.
Stage 3.
Powerful recoil strikes at release points. Spiral power. Hidden applications. Subtle Yin/Yang hands. Micro circles. Yin Qi.
Stage 4.
Fa-jing, explosive and soft, at release points. Subtle compressions and C back. Spirals and rolling of the arms.

Bagua Circular Form.
Stage 1
Form done slowly with basic structure and movement, flow and synchronising the breath. Applications.
Walking done slowly with brushing legs and slip step.
Stage 2.
Striking on simple movements. Striking intent and potential power on slower moves (twist, wave, weight) with settle back on same direction strikes.
Add to walking, heel toe pick up, pigeon tilt, correct waist movement.
Stage 3.
Powerful striking on simple movements. Form done both slow and fast. Spiral power. Hidden Applications. Subtle Yin/Yang hands. Micro Circles.
Add to walking, fast speed with snap in step. Yin Qi.
Stage 4.
Fajing, explosive and soft, on simple postures. Form done both slow and fast.  Subtle compressions and C back. Spirals and rolling. Figure eight posture connection. Yang Qi

Bag/Pad Work.
Stage 1.
Everything on the heavy bag or pads.
Basic body mechanics, structure, and good technique.
Jab and cross punch/palm. Hook punch/palm. FH elbow. Body hook punch.
Body Jab/Cross punch.
Stage 2.
All strike from stage 1 mixed into combos on the heavy bag.
Pad Work, reaction striking and keeping balance and posture when you miss.
Knee strike to the groin.
Stage 3.
Back to the basic individual strikes, bring in some power and speed, understanding and performing the difference between elastic power and direct speed.
Jab, cross, hook, FH elbow, body hook, body jab/hook.
Stage 4.
New combos on the pads, using all strikes learnt so far, keeping balance when you miss, and reaction training. All with the principles from Stage 3
Stage 5.
Adding additional strikes. Back fist, FV elbow, BV elbow, BH elbow, forearm coat hanger, upper cut, knife edge palm, hammer palm, hammer fist, fingers, hinge elbow, penetration punch, claw palm, head but, drive down punch, punching from the ground, bum strike.  
Straight heel kick, instep upward snap kick, heel cross kick, back kick, and sweeping leg kicks.
All kicks performed with and without stepping.
Stage 6.
Kicks to the head, front, back, roundhouse, back spinning. Turning back kick to body.
Punching and practical kicks/knees combos.
Two handed strikes. Shoulder strikes. Crescent kick, lotus kick, hook kick, forward and side snap kick with ball of foot.
Snap punch on the hard surface (Not required for non martial grade)
Stage 7.
Fa-jing applied to jab, cross, hook, body hook, body jab, all elbow strikes, back fist, upper cut, twist shoulder. Keeping balance when you miss.
Fa-jing snap punch on the hard surface 
(Not required for non martial grade)
Stage 8.
Strikes from a distance the length of your fingers.
Apply Fa-jing to combos, keeping balance when you miss.
